Stockings, Stockings, Stockings
Updated: Jun 14, 2021
We all are used to having missing socks lying around our home but what to do with those beautiful stockings that stay hidden for more than 300 days a year? It would be nice to show them off before the big DAY, right?
We understand.
But before you go out and buy a fireplace, let us show you a few ideas that can work, no matter what your configuration.
NO FIREPLACE, NO PROBLEM.
You may not have a mantel but most of you probably have a kitchen island with bar stools that can serve to showcase your holiday stockings. Simply attach with ribbon or flower wire. It can also be a fun game to hide treats in them for your kids each morning.

COATS OPTIONAL
Another cute idea is to simply re-purpose coat hooks and hang stockings from there!
Either keep it simple or add some extra greenery to take it up a notch. Both are beautiful!
BRANCH OUT
For a light, airy, and rather Scandi vibe, you can trudge out into the woods (or just go to Michael's for the outdoorsy-challenged like myself) and select the perfect branch to hang your little stockings. This is a very cute idea for a kids bedroom as well.

FIREPLACES WITHOUT A DEEP MANTEL
Now, some of you have a lovely fireplace but there isn't enough width to put up hooks or you want the top clear to add mega tall Nutcrakers ;). Much like mine below, I had to delve into DIY project to get these bad boys up. However, a simple trip to Home Depot to make a wooden box and a coat of white paint did the trick! Then you can put nails or screws right into the "make-shift" mantel to hang up those lovely stockings.
OR JUST KEEP IT SIMPLE WITH THE FIREPLACE YOU HAVE GOT!
So these subtle hooks we used above were from Target (tear.... why did you leave us up north!?) but here are some other cute ones you could source in time for the holidays.
a) Train Set b) Haute Curves c) Rustic Simple. This idea works well if you like change as you can move the hooks around all over the home.
Well there you have it.... lots of stocking ideas for you and yours. Please post a photo of your creation below or simply tag us on Instagram (@acinteriorsdesign.com) so we can see what you created!
Happy Decorating!
